Kirkbride Center and Blackwell Center for Adolescent Treatment
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to give back to our community. The adolescents from Blackwell Center for Adolescent Treatment, part of Kirkbride Place, planted the tree at Fairmount Park,as part of their program, “A Gift for All Seasons.” This program helps to restore and replace the park benches and dead trees in this famous park of more than 10,000 acres -- to keep it green and beautiful. It was a wonderful learning experience for the boys, and so memorable that I think they will keep it in their hearts and minds for a long time. They really enjoyed having the staff there to share it with them. - Linda Pellegrini
Thank you very much for participating in the tree-planting project at Fairmount Park. The tree was purchased jointly by CoreCare and Diamond. I think the event took on special meaning for the Blackwell boys who actively assisted with planting the rather sizeable hickory tree near Belmont Avenue as they seemed proud to have all of us there with them. One of them even said at one point, "You’re my family." - Scott Weisenberger
