Meet Thomas F. Hancock, III, Esquire
Tom Hancock was one of the founders of Diamond Healthcare Corporation in 1985 and is currently the Chairman of Diamond’s Board of Directors. The founders of Diamond represented the disciplines of administration, law, and medicine. As an attorney specializing in healthcare, Mr. Hancock had the opportunity to view a variety of service delivery models and be a part of the transition that was taking place in Federal and State laws and regulations as well as third party reimbursement.
“It was apparent that there was a need for a company that would anticipate and efficiently navigate the changes that were on the horizon as well as offer innovative approaches to addressing the needs of its clients,” said Mr. Hancock. “We all shared that view and Diamond is the result of our vision 25+ years ago.”
Diamond’s Challenges
All companies are faced with challenges and Mr. Hancock commented on what he sees as Diamond’s biggest challenges. “Recruitment of experienced, dedicated individuals who share our core values, commitment, and goal of developing and sustaining a company is important,” said Hancock. “Although our success to date in both recruitment and retention is evident, as Diamond grows that challenge persists.” Hancock also added that staying at the forefront in all facets of Diamond’s internal and external operations whether program development and/or enhancement, use of technology, advances in pharmacology and corporate compliance are all important.
Excitement at Diamond
Even after 25 years, Mr. Hancock feels that there is always something exciting occurring at Diamond. At the top of the list is Diamond receiving favorable recognition whether through endorsement by associations, a glowing survey report at a subsidiary-managed facility or positive one-on-one feedback. “This for me is confirmation that the original vision was correct and that Diamond’s performance is in keeping with its founding principles,” said Hancock.
