Behavioral Health Center Opens
Offers Specialty Services for Older Adults
1/29/13 (Albuquerque, NM) – Behavioral Health Services of New Mexico, LLC is pleased to announce the opening of a new 26-bed, inpatient behavioral health center located at 239 Elm Street NE in Albuquerque.
The Central Desert Behavioral Health Center will provide services for older adults in Albuquerque and the surrounding area. “I’m very excited about the program opening,” said Sammie Sikes, Executive Director. “We are looking forward to being an integral part of the community and this facility will address a community need for mental health services for the older adult.”
The Older Adult Inpatient Program is customized for adults age 55 and older and offers a secure healing environment for those individuals who face psychiatric or emotional issues requiring hospitalization. The Structured Outpatient Program will offer a less intense treatment environment for older adults and is designed to address a need that can avert a potential inpatient stay or to assist those transitioning from an inpatient stay back into the community. The programs are supervised by an independent Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist, Dr. Robben Gingery.
The Operator, Behavioral Health Services of New Mexico, LLC, is contracting with Diamond Healthcare Corporation to manage the Center. Diamond is a national leader in the development and management of high quality Behavioral Health services and manages over 75 programs in 28 states.
The Center will be accessible to individuals, providers and families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To learn more, visit www.centraldesertbh.com or call (505) 243-3387.
