The Farley Center Opens Addiction Treatment Outpatient Program in Hampton; Third in State

(Williamsburg, VA) – The increase in drug overdoses in Virginia prompted State Health Commissioner Marissa J. Levine to announce a public health emergency nearly 16 months ago, however the commonwealth is still struggling. To help combat the challenges posed by the opioid and prescription drug epidemic, The Farley Center, a nationally recognized addiction treatment facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, is providing adults in the Hampton Roads/Newport News communities with a new alcohol and addiction treatment option.

“Changes in Leadership at The Farley Center to Impact More Lives”

1/23/18 (Williamsburg/Richmond, VA) – The impact of the national opioid epidemic is staggering, both to individuals and to society as a whole. Preliminary data compiled by The New York Times indicates that drug overdose deaths exceeded 64,000 in 2016 and continued to worsen in 2017. Drug overdoses are now the leading cause of accidental death in the US according to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Sheila Butler has been promoted to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer and is the newest member of the Diamond senior leadership team.

In the six years that Sheila has been with Diamond, currently as our VP of Employee Relations, she has proven to be a consummate professional. She has the knowledge, personal values and passion to lead Diamond’s HR Department during a critical period in Diamond’s growth, as well as the challenge of the current healthcare business climate. Congratulations Sheila!

Clearview Behavioral Health Center Celebrates 30 Years

Clearview Behavioral Health Center at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA, celebrated its 30 year milestone of providing services and changing lives. Nearly 100 community members helped celebrate. Candace Coffin, Director of Specialty Services, at Mt. Rogers Community Service Board gave the keynote address titled, “Erasing Stigma” and Marty Grizzle, Peer Support Specialist, shared a recovery story.
